At XY-Global, we recently partnered with a U.S.-based company specializing in advanced 3D scanning technology to manufacture a critical structural component inside their large-scale scanning equipment. The customer required a solution that combined high strength, corrosion resistance, and precision machining to improve the scanning accuracy and reliability of their system.
The component was produced using 17-4PH stainless steel, chosen for its excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. The part needed to achieve a hardness level of HRC 36–40 and extremely tight dimensional tolerances. In addition, the client required a 3D measurement inspection report before shipment to verify the accuracy of every feature.
One of the main challenges was maintaining precision while machining such a hard material. To overcome this, our engineering team optimized cutting parameters, controlled temperature and cutting forces, and conducted multiple in-process inspections. These measures ensured that every critical dimension met the required standards and the surface finish was flawless.
The final result exceeded client expectations — the part not only improved the structural stability and scanning accuracy of their equipment but also strengthened our long-term collaboration.
This project reflects XY-Global’s expertise in precision CNC machining, quality control, and international project support, enabling us to deliver reliable components for high-tech industries such as 3D scanning, medical devices, and optical systems.
